Evaluation of silkmoth (Bombyx mori) allergens in sericultue grainage industries as major pollutants

چکیده
Allergens from scales and cuticles of abdomen and wing of silk moth, Bombyx mori, causatives of allergic rhinitis have been subjected to solubilization with SDS (2%), urea (8M) and guanidine hydrochloride (6M). Allergens (70%) were extracted and all the solvent extracts contained an approx similar complement of allergens. Allergen composition of abdomen and wing scales differ from one another and both revealed 30-40 polypeptides, on SDS-PAGE separation, of which about 8 in each case make up the major proportion. Major allergens had molecular weights of 14000 to 65000. Proteins extracted from both scales represent a true reflection of the abdominal and wing cuticles and also minor differences were found between the proteins of segment and intersegment cuticle. The isolated allergens were used for immunological analysis. However, some structural components were found common to some of the allergens because of their good antibody cross reactivity.

Mitochondrial genome nucleotide substitution pattern between domesticated silkmoth, Bombyx mori, and its wild ancestors, Chinese Bombyx mandarina and Japanese Bombyx mandarina
Bombyx mori and Bombyx mandarina are morphologically and physiologically similar. In this study, we compared the nucleotide variations in the complete mitochondrial (mt) genomes between the domesticated silkmoth, B. mori, and its wild ancestors, Chinese B. mandarina (ChBm) and Japanese B. mandarina (JaBm). The sequence divergence and transition mutation ratio between B. mori and ChBm are signif...

The domesticated silkworm, Bombyx mori Linn., a lepidopteran molecular model and an important economic insect that are emerging as an ideal molecular genetic resource for solving a broad range of biological problems. The silkworm, B. mori produces massive amount of silk proteins during the final stage of larval development. These proteins are stored in the middle silk gland and they are dischar...
متن کاملDemineralization enables reeling of wild silkmoth cocoons.
Wild Silkmoth cocoons are difficult or impossible to reel under conditions that work well for cocoons of the Mulberry silkmoth, Bombyx mori . Here we report evidence that this is caused by mineral reinforcement of Wild Silkmoth cocoons and that washing these minerals out allows for the reeling of commercial lengths of good quality fibers with implications for the development of the "Wild Silk" ...
متن کاملInsulin-like and IGF-like peptides in the silkmoth Bombyx mori: discovery, structure, secretion, and function
A quarter of a century has passed since bombyxin, the first insulin-like peptide identified in insects, was discovered in the silkmoth Bombyx mori. During these years, bombyxin has been studied for its structure, genes, distribution, hemolymph titers, secretion control, as well as physiological functions, thereby stimulating a wide range of studies on insulin-like peptides in other insects. Mor...
متن کاملPheromone-binding proteins contribute to the activation of olfactory receptor neurons in the silkmoths antheraea polyphemus and Bombyx mori.
The sensilla trichodea of the silkmoth Antheraea polyphemus are innervated by three types of receptor neurons each responding specifically to one of three pheromone components. The sensillum lymph of these sensilla surrounding the sensory dendrites contains three different types of pheromone-binding proteins (PBPs) in high concentrations. The sensilla trichodea of the silkmoth Bombyx mori are s...
